The Trinidad 2012 12 Year edition comes from two casks from the now defunct 10 Cane distillery. This all fresh cane juice, pot still rum was double distilled in 2012, in the first artisanal formulation used by the 10 Cane brand. These casks were left aging in the tropics for 4 years, then spent an additional 8 years in the UK and New York State for further maturation. In this journey, the light-bodied mixing rum has been transformed into a mature and layered taste profile. Bottled at barrel proof, or 59% ABV, these rare and special Trinidad releases give a beloved young rum a second life as an aged rum.
